There are few cars from the past that are still in such good condition and in the same state as almost 60 years back as this beauty is in. The story and the journey of the 1946 Ford clad in wood is something unique and pretty special. It was special-ordered for a Mexican government official and sold May 31, 1947 by a dealership in Mexico for MX$10,943 (pesos). It stayed south of the border for many years and was driven very little. From then on it was back in the US but did little else but just stay still and take rest.

It was acquired by Sea World in San Diego and was displayed there, inside Dave’s Surf Shop, for eight years. Steve and Jeanette Early purchased it from Sea World with the odometer reading just 96,000 kilometers. Miraculously, the original invoice was still in the car. The woodwork has some unique details not commonly found on Iron Mountain Fords - note the lip over the running board on the bottom of the front door. This is something that is till today completely original and totally unique.

There are probably few other cars like this one across the planet which are still in such good shape and almost preserved in the state that it was found. Hopefully we will dig up a few more in the months to come.
