Ever since the initiation of the European car of the year award in 1964, established by different automobile magazines from around the Europe , the event has become a celebration for car manufacturers and for car enthusiasts from around the globe.
The event which is currently structured by some of the big names amid various automobile magazines akin Auto (Italy), Autocar (UK), Auopista (Spain), Autovisie (Netherlands), L’L'Automobile Magazine (France), Stern (Germany) and Vi Bilagare (Sweden) is the most coveted award as analyzed by many industry experts.
Ford S Max managed to win the award last year and is amongst the final eight nominated for the award this year. Just like last year the judges couldn’t decide on the final seven and chose eight finalists, this year sees a similar trend where eight of them have made it to the final round.
Apart form the S max, the nominees include, Honda Civic, Volvo C30, Citroen C4 Picasso, Fiat Grande Punto, Opel Corsa, Peugeot 207 and Skoda Roomster. Each Car is a performer in its own style so to pick any one as a winner would be a tough ask for the judges.
The winner would be made public on the 13th of November, which is just ample time for me and all of you to speculate and study the ultimate one but the decision obviously would be difficult for not only the jury but everyone, let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope that our choice rules supreme.
