Nissan’s Altima is the automakers highest selling Car in the American Market. Off-late Nissan has been struggling to reverse a 6.2 percent drop in its U.S. sales in 2006, which is incidentally its first annual decline in the world’s largest auto market in four years. Nissan know plans to redeem this demur by adding the Altima Range with a Two-Door Coupe Variant, which was unveiled at this years’ LA Auto Show.
The Altima Coupe Version, which will arrive in the US by the third quarter of next year, is a 2008 model. The Altima Coupe is available in two engine trims. The higher variant is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 270 horsepower. The lower variant is a 2.5- liter, 4-cylinder engine that produces 175 horsepower. The power in both engine trims is transmitted through a six-speed manual transmission.

Nissan definitely has high hopes from this one, as the specific purpose of bringing this model is to provide impetus to its dropping sales of the Altima Models and the overall market share slump. Speculators asses this one to be tagged with a base price of $ 20,000. If that conjecture turns out to be true it will be a good package available at a reasonable price as compared to the other two door sports coupes currently available in the US Market .
