GM feels they belong to a different world or they have now become a part of the world, which never existed for them. The world, which talks about GT3’s or the Famous Vette’s and where comfort takes a back seat giving way to speed , power and thoroughly channelized torque .
This is the world of supercars and considering that the Blue Devil Corvette is in its final stages of tuning as cited by Mr. Bob Lutz, GM stands on the threshold of a new era. There is so much speculation surrounding this car that the news of their Rear-Wheel-Drive future models development coming to a stand still is not drawing any attention despite being a major issue.
The Blue Devil engine will produce something between 600 and 700 horses, for it has to perform better than the Viper and 700 hp would be too stretched as per Mr. Lutz. In addition, whether it will be naturally aspirated or supercharged is another issue because a picture revealed last month supports the use of a supercharger and on the other hand, if you consider the Lutz statement that it will be more displaced than the 7-liter Z06, the supercharger incorporation becomes a definite uncertainty.

In addition, the dubbing hasn’t been decided as some predict the SS and few others back Z07 or Stingray. This has to go down as the most highly speculated car of 2007 until date and when you’ve gulped the above mentioned ones , here are a few a more for you : it would expectedly bear a price tag of 1,00,000 USD and will go into production by 2008 and ultimately hit the road by 2009 .
What we know is that the supercars will have a tough competitor in a couple of years time and the compatriots like Ferrari and Porsche should be ready because if GM hit the right tone coupled with the fact that superior comfort provision has been their strong point , they might well redefine super cars .
