GM’s Shreveport truck assembly plan is about to see an investment to the tune of $73 million, in an effort to ready the plant for the new model. Production of Hummer H3T will begin in the third quarter of next year.

Troy Clarke, president of GM North America calls H3T as the first true pickup for the Hummer marque. The four-door H3T will share its chassis with Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. GM first displayed the H3T as a concept at the 2004 Los Angeles Auto Show.

According to GM, H3T will be larger than a midsize truck but smaller than a full size truck. Keeping in mind that most trucks go for customization, there will also be a comprehensive range of personalization accessories for the H3T.
