The Compact Sports Tourer (the company prefers defining it like this) B-class vehicle has got upgraded sooner than expected but I guess that’s how quickly an automaker should react to the diminishing sales. I see it as the last throw at the dice, giving this car a chance for say a couple of years more.
It isn’t just the exterior or the interior design which has been refurbished, the MPV would perform better even on mileage. The exterior changes include a new radiator grille, a redesigned bonnet (with a more prominent arrow shape evident) and new front bumper and rear bumpers.
The tail lamp lens has also been redesigned alongwith mirror housings and the skirt panels which have all been painted in tuning with the cars colour. The interior changes include a finer upholstery use with an optional Artico Faux Leather choice available.
Under the hood, the configurations remain the same for all the six models (four petrol and two diesel) but the company promises an improved mileage by 7%, how, that still remains to be answered. Probably the stop-start technology on two of the models could help but what about the rest. Also, another interesting query would be to ask the makers whether they could now dare to bring this car to US.
