
The latest generation of Toyota Corolla has finally made it to North America. 2009 Corolla has received a revamp for its interiors as well as exteriors. Toyota will offer the car in five different trims.
Standard, LE and XLE versions will be equipped with a 1.8L Dual VVT-i four-cylinder engine that provides 132hp and 128 lb-ft of torque along with an estimated fuel economy of 35mpg on the highway. Transmission can be chosen from a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual. Corolla S and XRS trims will get Toyota’s 2.4L VVT-i four-cylinder engine that pumps out 158hp. Fuel economy figures for the Sports models stand at 30mpg for the highway. Buyers may opt for 5-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Along with a long range of options, all models come standard with AM/FM/CD audio with XM satellite capability, auxiliary audio input jack, air conditioning with air filter and tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Sport models in the lineup get a unique body kit as well.
