Once driven by sports-racing stars like Phil Hill and Richie Ginther, the 1958 Ferrari 412S is expected to fetch around $8 million at auction in California on August 19.
The car was produced just for the SCCA racing circuit in North America with coachwork done by Scaglietti.
The auction will administered by RM Auctions. The highest dollar generating car at a North American auction so far is the Le Mans (1962) winning Ferrari Testa Rossa 330TRI which fetched a price of $6.5 million at the 2002 Monterey auction.
Do you think the 1958 412S Ferrari will beat the record? I am doubtful, but we can only get to verify it on August 19. In the meantime, let us keep guessing.
