Here is a car that finally belongs to the beaches and will not hurt the planet in any kind of way. This really looks cool and barring a heavy downpour this will be a pretty good attraction once the show opens. This Volkswagen Beetle is simply wonderful as it has been crafted out of nothing much sand and barring the ice sculptures that I have seen earlier, this is cool sculpting indeed. I suppose even the guys at Volkswagen stable would be a touch envious of the handy work of this gentleman.

One of the star attractions at this year’s “New Beetle Sunshine Tour” that took place at Gromitz in Northern Germany on July 19, 2008 is without doubt a life-sized New Beetle made entirely from sand. The sculptured Beetle, which was created with river sand instead of sea sand as it’s more resilient and is the work of two sand castle artists, Michel de Kok from the Netherlands and his partner Martijn Smits. The tour is a private initiative that got started by Beetle Cabriolet driver Gabriele Kraft in 2004. This year’s gathering is considered special as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of VW’s New Beetle.
Surely this is one of the best Volkswagen you will ever come across and hopefully something to cherish in terms of the sheer simple elegance of the whole thing.

This is really cool for Beetle Lovers. nice idea though, hope every car models and manufacturers will imitates this one. Lot of car structure in the sand, cool! VW Parts Blog will appreciate this one.
Yes, it is really cool for those who seem to be crazy about the Beetle and it seems that there are many around. I wonder though if this has been preserved or something as we did not receive any news on that. Will let you know once we know, but thats highly unlikely...
