Vince Brucato, a reader at Hemmings got a drop tank from an F86 Saber jet and got to work preparing it for the salt flats. Brucato plonked in a ’48 Ford V8, a 3-speed ’49 transmission, got a ’30 Ford frontend and a ’49 Ford rear. And here’s the bellytanker all ready, with plans to race on the Bonneville salt flats. Now that’s well executed, hard work pays.
