Jaguar cars have always been sculpted works of automobile art and here is a curvy beauty, way back from the 1950’s. This Jaguar, called the XK140 roadster has all the right curves at the right places. The XK140 features an open top design for that wind-in-your-hair motoring experience and the front end has the typical Jaguar curves and the prominent chromed grille design. This timeless design of the yesteryears has been so graceful and effective that it has even been carried over to Jaguars of this day.

The Jaguar XK140, which was a successor to the XK120 had quite a few cosmetic and design changes ranging from a newer XK engine that delivered a stupendous 190 Bhp which was a revelation for 1954 and all this power, propelled the Jag to a top speed of 140 miles per hour. On the mechanical front, the XK140 also got tube type shockers, a rack and pinion steering and better brakes. Flashing indicators, twin amber lights and a chrome strip that ran behind the Jaguar mascot were the cosmetic changes on the XK140 from it’s predecessor.

With all these features, now we know why the Jaguar XK140 was called revolutionary in its day and time. So, if you ever come across one of these, you must lap up it’s smooth, sinewy lines and admire it’s 1950’s design that remains relevant, even today.
