Ford’s director of strategic design Freeman Thomas says it’s an original recipe created in America. A look at the Ford Interceptor, and you will agree with him. The car looks good and fulfills the ‘American Muscle’ vision of Freeman Thomas. The concept does give a strong and muscular look and has an appeal to it that makes you stop in your tracks to have a good look at the car.

Interiors of the interceptor are as nicely done as its exterior. ‘Squircles’ or square-circles are a prominent vision and design concept in the interior. The steering wheel, gauges, vents and headrest, all are squircles.
The flat leather seats are comfortable and the black interior gives a formal and business-like look.
This is a mean machine, and starting mean machines is no easy job! First, you flip the roof mounted power switch to activate the fuel pump. Then, you push the start button inside the center console to start the 5.0-liter ethanol powered V8.

The Interceptor comes with side vents and other measures to keep its engine cool, the engine remains somewhat susceptible to overheating. Perhaps more work needs to be done on this otherwise excellent and capable concept.

Lincoln MKR was to be the ‘American Beauty’. The MKR gives you a look into how the future Lincoln vehicles may look like and the engines they will carry under their hood. Clean body sides, split grille combined with the headlamps, a dynamic beltline with chamfered surfaces running parallel and a smooth transitioning C-pillar into a cantilevered roof will appear on all new Lincoln models, thanks to the MKR.

White interiors of the MKR are trimmed with chrome accents. The dashboard is covered with black oak and to the twin-level center floating console that passes through the central cabin. To many, this may seem strange and uncomfortable.
The flex-fuel compatible engine is a 3.5liter twin turbocharged V6 that produces 415 hp and 400lb-ft of torque. The vehicle has good looks and is airy. But it isn’t ‘cool’. With a roof made entirely of glass, you may feel as if you are sitting in a green house. Not recommended for hot regions with plenty of sun!
Most likely, the MKR concept will remain a concept and never see production. It has however, provided design cues that future Lincoln vehicles will sport. Ford Interceptor has a greater possibility of going into production. The vehicle has good looks and good features, and it runs on ethanol, a plus point considering the emission norms today. We hope to see the Interceptor on the road soon.
