When I initially looked at this customized “motorbike” created by famous Hollywood auto stylist George Barris, my first reaction was of utter shock. I couldn’t believe that the guy who created the Batmobile could actually have made something as nonsensical as THIS. I mean the thing looks like an Indian rickshaw customized to take part in the local drag races. Sure it houses a 400 horsepower all aluminum highly polished Buick engine with automatic transmission powering the three inch free floating rear axle via a double chain and sprocket, but those specs just fail to make up for the aversion inspired by the pin striping and the Italian variegated gold leaf letters spelling the name “Sidewinder” on the thing’s “nose”. The obnoxious mix of inter-disciplinary auto design features rear wheels borrowed from a DC-6 aircraft while the front end of th thing is held off the ground by a 20 inch laced spoke cycle wheel which really makes me wonder if the thing wont do a 360-degree back flip in mid-air if it was ever taken for a real badass spin down the block!! Check out the entire specs for the thing here.
