Even though I have no idea on earth what the words “Mi.To” really mean in Italian, I’m told that the latest Alfa Romeo venture of the same name is being touted as the next BMW Mini Cooper killer. Aimed at taking the premium subcompact segment by storm, the Mi.To’s design is inspired by Alfa’s 8C Competizione vehicle. With claims of an estimated 49 MPG behind it, the Mi.To will be available exclusively as a three-door hatchback. Measuring 4 meters in length, the car is expected to be available with 78Hp 1.4-liter 155Hp turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and one turbo diesel 120Hp 1.6 JTDM engine, both with 6 speed manual gearboxes. So can the new Alfa really butt out the Mini Cooper? Watch this space for more on that!
