Which is America’s darling Convertible? The Chrysler Sebring Cabrio is the genuine answer. You people may disagree, but then this is what the officials from Chrysler believe and they now want this darling convertible to expand its horizon beyond the American market and capture the European one.
The All-new Chrysler Sebring Cabrio was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2006 and this same model will be launched in UK by the end of 2007. The models slated for the UK market will feature a retractable roof that stows in 30 seconds and folds into three sections. That is not just it guys, this new convertible will come with a key fob which will work as a remote for the roof retraction purpose along with automatic latching facility.
Right -hand drive will feature a 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine with six-speed automatic gear transmission, producing 189 horses with 191 lb-ft of torque. It will also be available in a diesel variant, which features a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine with a six-speed gear transmission, producing 140 hp with 229lb-ft of torque.
MD of Chrysler Group, Peter Lambert mentioned:
Over the last decade the Sebring has been America’s favourite convertible and this latest model is ideal for European markets with a folding hard roof and choice of petrol and diesel engines.
The new Sebring is a stunning four seat two-door Cabrio that will offer outstanding value for money compared to competitors like the Saab 9-3 and Audi A4 in the UK. The Cabrio offers more than enough room for four adults plus exceptional cargo space. It is three inches longer than the Sebring saloon and there is luggage space for four golf bags with the roof up and two golf bags when the roof is retracted.
It is sure that the Europeans and the English will get a stunning package , but what about the Americans Peter , they wont mind such a stunning convertible at reasonable prices , will they ? Or, is it the other way around that the American Manufacturers have lost confidence in their very own markets, What Say!
