Volvo and Garmin have come up with a new portable navigation system compatible with all new Volvo cars. The hand navigator, called nuvi 760 is fitted on top of the dashboard, a placement that means maximum viewability and minimum distraction.
The bracket on the dashboard comes with an integrated power connection for plug and play capability and can be folded away when the navigator is removed from the car. The navigator unit comes pre-programmed with detailed 2 and 3-dimensional maps covering Europe or USA and Canada, depending upon the market it is bought from. Also included is a Volvo information database that points at the quickest route to the nearest Volvo workshop.
Garmin navigation system will be available later this year, the 178-gram unit will cost €699 in Europe and 879 USD in North America.
