It’s probably the day for revealing supercars and luxury car specs for we spoke about the Hyundai Genesis in the morning and now this. Hennessey unveiled the latest image of the cars rear alongwith a few details which has created quite a commotion in the automotive lobby.
The reason is pretty clear as this car has already been compared to the long standing Veyron and with the Hennessey Twin Turbo Charged Supercar previously beaten the Veyron in the 0 to 200 mph run, speed fanatics just cant wait to get a sight of the Venom GT.
Defined by the company owner, John Hennessey as an ultra fast and an ultra luxurious GT car, the Venom would be powered by a twin-turbo version of the Dodge Viper’s 8.4L V10 engine, capable of producing 1000hp. This enormous power would be transmitted through a six speed manual transmission or an optional sequential transmission.
For those who believe those 1000 horses aren’t just enough, there would be an optional kit, capable of making the horses gallop 200 times more. An amazingly low kerb weight of 1,225 kg enables the car to rocket from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 2.5 seconds, whilst the car would top it out at 421 Km/h or 260 mph.
A mid-engine, rear wheel drive layout will see the car opening up enough space on the inside for two passengers. The public could get a first glimpse of this car in 2009 until then; we could keep guessing what precisely would fit under the hood, while you people keep satiating your inquisitiveness with these teaser sketches.
