After a long time of declaring that it was ready for production, Aptera recently revised its Typ-1 design to create the 2e. With it’s development complete and funds finally at its disposal, Aptera has put the 2e into production. The pre-production version is out, and will be joined by a small test fleet to conduct tests and tweak any problems that may arise.
The aerodynamic 2e is expected to provide an efficiency of 200mpg on the EPA driving cycle. The car can cover 40 miles on battery power alone, before the engine kicks in to provide support. For a distance of about 350-400 miles, the fuel efficiency can be rated at a very efficient 130mpg. The cars will cost between $25k to $45k, and will be available in California this October, while the rest of United States will be able to get their hands on the car by late next year.
