Ariel has revealed plans for a new sportscar that will use fuel cells or electricity to run, and will be slightly different than the Atom. The company has shelved plans for a big-engined sportscar, and will instead stick to its idea of lightweight, maximum accelerative cars with the use of new technologies. They have also made it clear that while the car will not be much like the atom, it isn’t going to be a mid-engine sportscar either, as the company has no plans to take-on the established automakers of the said segment. The new car will also depart from the atom’s exposed skeletal structures.
With so many changes that the company has thought of, the car itself isn’t yet even completely on the drawing board. The actual car is way into the future, and for now, the company is busy working on the new Atom, that will have a 3.0-l V8 churning out 500bhp.
