ariel plans clean car_zk9xh_5965

Ariel has given out a few details for its upcoming Atom 500 supercar, more specifically, the 500bhp V8 that will power the new car. The 3.0-l V8 will weigh just 90kgs, making it lighter than the Honda engine currently used in Ariel’s cars. Power to weight ratio comes to an interesting 1000bhp. The car will go from zero to 60mph in just 2.5 seconds and will reach 100mph in a quick 6 seconds.

The new supercar will get a new suspension, and there will be adjustments in its aerodynamics and brakes as well. Engines will likely be assembled on-site, and it will take about four to six weeks for an engine to roll out of the lines. Production for the new car will be limited to just 25 units, and will begin next year.
