Ascari A10 is now holds Top Gear’s lap speed record. Powered by a V8 and pushing 625bhp, the supercar completed the lap in 1 minute 17.3 seconds, brushing aside the earlier record held by Koenigsegg CCX by three-tenths of a second. The car flies from zero to 60mph in just 2.8seconds and can reach 100mph in under 6 seconds.
Caparo T1 had earlier broken the same record by a huge seven seconds, but couldn’t make it to the books because of its inability to negotiate speed bumps. The A10, however negotiated the bumps with ease to claim its position at the top.
