Vauxhall has released the Nurburgring edition of the Astra VXR. The new car does not differ from the standard car in mechanical terms, the change comes in the treatment of the exteriors and interiors that have been inspired by the ‘Ring.
Powered by the 240PS engine of the standard VXR, accelerating from zero to 60mph takes 6.2seconds and you can go on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. The car gets a new Remus Sports Exhaust that has been developed with Vauxhall’s race team Triple Eight Race Engineering.
Exteriors get an exclusive metallic white paint, 18-inch alloys, dark tinted windows chequered flag body graphics and carbon fibre effect mirrors and B-pillars. Interiors continue the theme with carbon fibre detailing, leather trim with the Nurburgring circuit graphic embossed into front seat backrests and a unique numbered plaque that shows the build number. The car is priced at £20,995.
