While everyone waited for the unveiling of the Tata motor’s $3,000 mini at the 2008 Auto Expo to be held in New Delhi, Bajaj Auto has stealthily come with its version of the small car to the surprise of many. This seem to herald a new era of wars for small cars among car manufacturers. The congested streets in countries like India are suitable for the small cars that would suit the budget of the population as well. These people’s cars are also said to be ecofriendly.
The new Bajaj Auto’s small car is believed to draw its technology from Bajaj’s Pulsar motorbike. This small car will be part of the joint venture of Bajaj Auto with Renault and Nissan. If things work according to schedule, this car will hit the road in 2010. This is probably a smart move from Bajaj, or this car may have been rubbed off by Tata’s minicar that is purported to be the star of this show.
