Originating with the J-Factor (Japanese originality and quality) influences at its core, the Toyota iQ is a radical breakaway from the traditional belief that small is basic. Fusing geometric precision with inner beauty, the structure of the iQ can be best described as ‘techno-organic’. Measuring 2,985mm in length and 1,500mm in height, the car features a comparatively lengthy wheelbase of 2,000mm while a ‘small yet spacious’ packaging, designed to meet the top 5-star safety rating of EURO NCAP creates more passenger space inside.

Smaller heater/ air conditioning unit saves space while flat under-floor fuel tank with rear-angled shock absorbers reduces the car’s overall length. Flat-bottomed steering wheel also provides the driver with greater legroom and steering-wheel-based audio controls contribute to space-saving as well as driver convenience and safety.

50/50 split rear seats can be separately folded flat to increase the available load area for more luggage capacity as rich chocolate-plum colored interiors contrasts with the matt silver of the exterior to complete the futuristic look of the car. To be made with a choice of one of two petrol or one diesel engine, the iQ is expected to deliver outstanding fuel economy and exceptionally low CO2 emissions, starting at around 100g/km, with production commencing later this year.
