British startup Bee has plans to produce Britain’s most affordable electric car. The Bee.One will be able to cover 200 miles on a single charge, and reach a top speed of 80 mph. In case you decide to drive at top speed all the way, the range will reduce to 100 miles. Each production car will come with an embedded 3G cellular network connection that will allow updates to the car’s management software, and also let drivers transfer performance and usage data.

Delivery of the four-seat, five door car is expected to begin in 2011, with the price tag at £12,000. Subtract the recently announced £5000 government subsidy, and the deal gets better. The company also has plans for a two-seat roadster, Bee.Four. This one will be a supercar with 700 hp coming from the in-wheel motors, a top speed of 250mph, and zero to sixty time under three seconds.
