Bertone a well known name for building coaches was on the verge of depleteion due to some management problems and lack of orders. The company had a good business till it 2005 as it produced Opel/Vauxhall Astra coupe and cabriolet but after the production was stopped the company survived on small tasks like building 2,000 MINIs that was still not enough to preserve the jobs for its workers.
It has been reported that the company has hit a jackpot as now it will be building about 400 units of a camper van and a BMW powered sports car and to be sold in U.S market. This would help the company to preserve 300 jobs. Bertone did show a 95th Anniversary Concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March that is based on the Fiat Panda 100HP.
