Malcolm Bricklin of Subaru and Yugo, first popularized the Chinese automaker, Chery, when he announced his intention to import its vehicles to US in 2007 through his new company, Visionary Vehicles. Now, equally interested is billionaire George Soros, who would be investing $200 million in Chery.
The investment is to facilitate Chery’s international export plan. The $200 million investment by Soros is an answer to Bricklin’s Atlantic-Pacific Capital’s objective to raise $200 million for Chery to manufacture vehicles suitable for US.
