It will not be wrong to say that Saab is as close to Toyota, when it comes to being ‘eco buddy’. What Saab has visualized is a fleet of bioethanol powered luxury and premium cars.
Therefore, to lessen greenhouse gases especially CO2, Saab has called for the use of E85 fuel to power their fleet. Equally noteable is the plan’s direct potential to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, as such fuel can be harnessed from plant materials, such as sugarcane or woodchip.
The car would still emit CO2, harmful to the environment but can be drastically reduced by 80% by the plant used to produce the fuel through photosynthesis process.
Saab already has some of its fleet running on the fuel.
