BMW is committed to meet the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers 2008 CO2 emissions reduction targets. The note able car maker will achieve this goal by installing an Automatic Engine Start/Stop System next year.
Coming in a package of Efficient Dynamics technology, any BMW fitted with it will automatically switch off its engine when the car comes to rest and turns it on again when the clutch is pressed.
When introduced in four- and six-cylinder 1-, 3- and 5-Series models, it is hoped to achieve greater fuel efficiency for the car too.
Let us hope BMW does not meet the same failure as Audi did.
