Production of BMW’s middleweight dual-purpose enduro, the F 800 GS has been delayed due to high demand for the F 650 GS. Since the F 650 GS is taking a lot of space on the production line, BMW could not squeeze in the F 800 GS into the plan. The company has now announced that the F 800 GS will be available by the end of this year as a 2009 model.
Drawing inspiration from the R 1200 GS, the F 800 GS is adapted for off-roading. This motorcycle has an asymmetrical double headlight, 85-horsepower parallel twin engine, lightweight steel trellis frame, double-sided swingarm, with a chain drive and longer front and rear suspension.
