Long after hearing the rumors of BMW building a CUV or a MPV based on 5-Series and 3- series has now got confirmation. While there have been no reports on the progress of the 5-Series based MPV, the 3-Series dubbed as the F3 has received the green light for production.

The upcoming five-seater CUV design has been calibrated by merging high seating position of a sport/utility vehicle with the space afforded by a traditional station wagon, crossovers. The car will also feature the new FlexRay system, which is aimed at providing the new car with a stable network for a raft of advanced electronic driver aids and safety features. The company has plans to offer four-wheel-drive system as an option for its consumers.

The most important part of the deal is that F3 is expected to fit to your budget unlike the X3 series that means now you cam own a BMW without cutting your pockets too much.
With the F3, BMW hopes to muscle in on Europe’s burgeoning C-segment MPV ranks, currently dominated by the likes of the Ford C-Max, the Volkswagen Touran and the Renault Scenic. But the launch of the car is not expected any time before 2010, till then what we can do is only wait.
