The Beast:
After Mini Cooper and Mini Clubman, it is time for the Mini Crossover Concept to make its entry. Actually, the Crossover had another month still to go but BMW decided that they will allow the media to take a look at it well before the Paris Motor Show. Is that a good thing in this time and age when pictures go around so fast? Not so much, one would think. On the face of it the Mini Crossover looks anything but stunning.

The Machine:
The exterior of the Crossover seems little new, with the traditional BMW look maintained and the interiors seem like a bit of a disaster. The car has nothing new beyond the botched up door system. The left rear door slides open while the other three are the normal version. Whys is that? Beats us too! The one good thing going in its favor is the interior space. While that is expected, it still is a lot larger than normal and more than sufficient for four people. The Dashboard apparently ahs a new globe structure which has all the controls of the concept and looking at the way this is done, BMW will not repeat the experiment again.

The Thrill:
The Mini Crossover is not all that bad and it probably is just not up to the expectations BMW built it up to. The concept is fine for large parts and the roof is the saving grace of an otherwise mundane design. The ride in the Crossover, though, would still be very pleasurable. But one would expect a lot more from BMW when you end up paying as much as you do for the Crossover.
