BMW is ready with its new 2006 BMW 530xi Sports Wagon: a midsized luxury station wagon with an all-wheel drive which is being considered as a big step up from its previous embodiments. It has a much lighter but a powerful engine, a 3-liter, 24-valve in-line 6. The wagon is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic one.
The new 5-Series wagon looks much sleeker with an eccentric rear end. The wagon also has a host of standard gadgets, including Xenon headlamps that turn with the wheels and an electronically dimmed two-piece sunroof.
The sports wagon is comfortable from inside. The front seats are terrific - with adjustable thigh support. The back seats have adequate shoulder and leg room. The estimated mileage is expected to be around 20 miles per gallon mark in the city.
The basic model is priced at $52,095 which includes shipping. And the one with automatic transmission is priced at $62,565.
