Writing about unconventional ways of mobility in terms of the fluid that moves the engine has become quite monotonous but then science is ever evolving and it seldom gives you an opportunity to eat up excessively on technology. Talking on similar lines, I feel refreshed for the British Steam Car Challenge has thought of setting new records using steam as the driving force.

The team from Britain has its eyes sight on creating two landmark records. The first target would be to set the steam car ablaze at 150mph on home soil, thereon the car would head-off to Utah to muscle past the 200mph barrier. I feel so poles apart, positively though, in mentioning that this car will run on external combustion meaning it would not be dependent on the fuel generated combustion or in layman terms the internal combustion .

My attitude continues to flow, as the powertrain of this streamliner is definitely eccentric though not lackluster by any figment of imagination. This tar scorcher will produce 225Kw of power, courtesy its 12,000-rpm turbine engine. To produce that amount of steam pressure, a total of four LPG-powered boilers will be used clearly signifying that the beast would be powered by heavy artillery under the hood.

The team designing this car is working out of their skins to ensure that the final product takes shape quickly and is exactly as per the resolute criteria. This car will establish a universally confirmed 200mph land speed record following which it would be retired to the National Motor Museum Trust at Beaulieu.

The vision is brilliant but as always money does the talking, the propagators of this Steam car Challenge are looking for finances and are hopeful that their patriotic theme would entice patriotic individuals and companies to contribute for the cause. However, this no way means that a normal individual with patriotic fervor on the lower side is not entitled to any sort of contribution. Those of you who are willing to see the streamliner from Britain slither past 200 mph can contribute at British Stream Car Appeal.
