As gas prices escalate, people get frustrated and guess what bears the brunt? Ha, of course, those big menacing machines called the SUVs. Once taken to by storm, these autos have now moved to the background to be replaced by smaller and greener cars as gas prices refine people’s attitude. Take London for example; according to a study conducted by Ispos-MORI on behalf of the Greater London Authority (GLA), 68% of Londoners have no qualms about not seeing it in their streets anymore. Also over two-thirds of Londoners want motorists to be discouraged from driving large off-roaders in the capital. This despite the fact that sales of the car is still doing really well.

over 6000Ironically, unintentionally unbeknownst even to them, California has banned big autos from entering many of their residential roads. Guarding those roads stand an imposing sign which strictly prohibit vehicles over 6,000 pounds. What I found extremely funny is that, and I am sure you would too, every big SUV and pickup driven by the residents themselves are excessively heavy to grace these roads. The Chevy Suburban, Tahoe, Range Rover, GMC Yukon, Toyota Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Lincoln Navigator, Mercedes M Class, Porsche Cayenne S, Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, and the Hummer are red guilty. Sow what do you think should happen now? Now that the truth is revealed do you think California would dare to go London way? I would be really surprised if they do. On the other hand, the very fact that SUV sales are still doing well makes me fell uneasy about the whole London SUV ban. The people are not ready and I wonder at their commitment.
