Caparo T1 has proven its ability to move at lightning speeds; the car raced around Top Gear’s track and posted a record-breaking lap time of 1:10.6, faster than the previous record by an astonishing seven seconds.
Caparo’s feat however, did not make it to the books and the Koenigsegg CCX still sits on top of the record. T1 didn’t make it to the record books because of its inability to negotiate speed bumps, an important point in the criteria specified.
Caparo now wants a second chance, this time with adjustable drive height and electronic active driver control systems. Presence of these systems can bring the ride height up by 90mm, giving it better chances of negotiating speed bumps.
