Researchers at Georgia Tech have come up with a unique design which makes it possible for vehicles running on fossil fuels to have zero emission. The idea here is to extract carbon present in the fossil fuels and recycle it into a high energy density fuel which could be used in transportation.
The carbon capture strategy holds some promise for the immediate future. However reliance on fossil fuels is still a necessity. Making a world completely independent of fossil fuels (which in turn could rewrite the whole economic scene) is ultimately the primary goal of all researchers in this field. For the time being however, this strategy could have a beneficial impact on the environment.
