The Beast: Challenger’s MT900B series seem to be really promising with models such as the 320kW (430hp) gross horsepower MT945B, MT975B and even the 15L 343kW (460hp) MT955B. These tractors look sturdy and could be some of the biggest tractors we have ever seen from down under. Looks like they are set to prove their claim to having the world’s biggest production tractor.

The Machine: Apparently, the MT955B can average 9kph and consumes 3.5L/ha. The 18L 430kW (585hp) MT975B can reach only 6kph with a fuel consumption rate of 12.5L/ha. The 15L unit will cost $344,000 and the 18L unit would cost $440,000. One has to however decide if it the tires that matter or the tracks. Moreover, ‘B’ series Challenger models will stop production in November and ‘C’ series models would start rolling by the end of the year.

The Thrill: Both the 15L and the 18L models are of the same size excluding the tires and weights. The tractors steer well and the visibility is great as well. The main controls are all easily accessible and you can expect to have a monster with you when you buy either of these tractors.
