If you cannot afford to get a BMW, Martin or any of those luxury autos’take it from me, you are better off driving the one that you can afford. Let me explain, the recent study conducted by Which? Magazine states exactly this. By taking reliability scores, which includes; breakdowns, faults and irritations reported by owners over a 12 month period on cars up to two years old it was found that cheaper cars excelled in reliability compared to expensive ones.

The Honda Jazz scored 95% for reliability is the new most reliable vehicle. Out of the 406 models sampled, it recorded the least breakdown, faults and niggles. Second place went to seven cars with 92% score– Honda’s Accord and CR-V, the Mazda 3, Renault Clio, Toyota Corolla, Vauxhall Corsa and Subaru Forester.

Both the BMW 5 Series and the Jaguar S-type scored 83%. 80% score for the Jaguar X-type, Nissan Primera, and Renault’s Megane and Scenic, the Focus C-Max was rated at 78%.

The least reliable new vehicle in the survey of 32,550 cars was Ford’s MPV, the Focus C-Max.
