What you’re looking at is the 1-DIN 7 Inch Touch screen LCD vehicle DVD player, recently made available by China’s wholesale electronics mogul Chinavasion. At 197mm x 177mm x 50mm it’s a sleek tablet shaped device which fits like a car radio and is equipped with a 7-inch touch screen which can push itself open and back in again using a tiny motor. Now, how cool is that?
For its size, this player packs a wallop when it comes to features. It supports DIVX, MP3, MP4, AVI, WMA and even JPEG formats which can be run via DVD, CD-R, CD-RW and USB! It features an analog TV tuner plus remote control so that you can watch your favorite channels anytime, Bluetooth connectivity for your phone, and did I mention that it’s also an AM/FM radio? It’s virtually a miniature computer for your cars dashboard.
While all this maybe very cool, the idea behind it seems flawed. I’m not sure being distracted by the sheer amount of things the 1-DIN 7 can dish out from your dashboard, while driving down a busy street at top speed is the best way to enjoy this product. On its own it has very few real flaws, and is a steal for $307.84, but like fine wine this product should be enjoyed responsibly.
