A Chinese man, driving his Mercedes S350 rear-ended into a DongFeng van and even though the damage to the car was severe, the useless airbags in the Merc refused to deploy. The Chinese guy Wang Zhan and his daughter had to get medical attention after the incident. Complaining that Mercedes did not provide him with a satisfactory answer as to why the airbags didn’t save the day for him, a pissed off Zhan held a press conference to declare that he’d only buy Chinese for the rest of his life.
Gauging from the damage done to his car, the airbags should have seen some action but at the same time there can be a number of theories to explain why this happened. Our advice to him is that there’s no substitute to proper and safe driving. More so, if you are going to drive Chinese for the rest of your life.
