The Chinese Copycat’s may have finally learnt a lesson after the production of the Smart For Two emulation was put to a halt following litigation warnings from Daimler Chrysler. Inspired by an Auto Express story, Chrysler threatened to sue HuoYun the owner of Shandong HuoYun Electromobile (the company who was producing copied versions of the Smart with the dubbing City Spirit).
Daimler Chrysler simultaneously warned to sue the production plant where the City spirit was being mass-produced. Jolted by this warning the production process has been halted. The designing of the battery -powered car is changed and the revamping will ascertain that the city street looks entirely different.
Hats off to Auto Express as their efforts raised the much-wanted alarm. Daimler Chrysler has done what many other Auto Giants show draw inspiration from, as the city street isn’t the only car, which emulates the ones being produced in Europe or else where in the world.
