The thrust on biofuels just gets stronger and stronger. Now, a taste-bud tickling solution has been proposed to power cars, chocolates. Inventors are working to convert the by-product of chocolate manufacturing into biofuel.

Chocolate waste, which earlier went to landfills, could now go into the fuel tank of your car, thanks to English firm Ecotec. This firm took the chocolate waste, turned it into bio-ethanol and mixed it with vegetable oil to come up with a serving of biodiesel.

To test the new biofuel, a truck will travel across a West African desert for nearly 4,500 miles and three weeks. The organizer of the event, and a co-driver of the truck, Andy Pag said:

This is to show that you can have environmentally-friendly biofuels and that you don’t have to convert normal diesel engines to use it.
