The Chrysler Town & Country minivan is most likely to be the first car that will play host to the package being touted as the future of in-car entertainment. Chrysler’s Web Edition is a bundle of gadgets, with web connectivity. The package will have a Dell Mini 9 Notebook, PSP, iPod Touch, and a digital camera with Eye-Fi Wi-Fi SD card. All these gadgets will be able to connect to the web via the car’s inbuilt router. The $1,999 per annum package will come installed with the first year of service.
Currently, this appears to be an attempt to test the waters, but Chrysler may soon have the kit available as a dealer-installed option for its marques. The package does look neat and is great for connectivity on the go. It does look like the near-future of in-car entertainment system.
