Falling sales and decreasing profit margins have forced BMW to look away from making a production version of the Concept CS. Close on the heels of the news that BMW had seen a 63 percent drop in profits for the third quarter, came the announcement that the automaker would not follow plans for a production version on the CS. Unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show last year, the four-door luxury coupe was to mark the company’s venture into a new territory.

The changing market dynamics however, have forced BMW to rework it’s priorities and Concept CS has been sent to the shelf, probably for a very long time. Norbert Reithofer, BMW AG chairman of the board of management, said BMW will currently concentrate on “EfficientDynamics and project i.”
