Audi is an admirer of the design sense of the youth and that is why people like Markus Klug can design scale models for yachts taking inspiration from the Audi Idiom only to later revert back to auto designs. His Dailysailer is a 1:15 scale model of original and it is based on the TP52 class sailing yachts that participate in the Audi MedCup.
Klug actually made this model for a university project organised by the Joanneum University of Applied Science, Graz (Audi obviously being the part of the venture). Audi has had a formal idiom for vision and creativity and even if the designers ventured into other designs, it was important to bear it in mind-probably a challenge Markus took on with delight.
He thought of a yacht which is perfect for an afternoon sail and yet sturdy enough to face the challenges posed by nature. Meanwhile, the critics could look for the idiom in the tornado line, the character line along the side of the hull, and the shoulder line. If Audi ever intends to build a yacht, the Dailysailer would be in the first list of choices.
