The business daily Handelsblatt has reported that the German-US auto maker DaimlerChrysler is sniffing the possibility of retaining the Jeep brand if it sooner or later sells the Chrysler Group.
The reason for this might be the fact that around 595,000 Jeeps were sold out last year and would go well along with the DaimlerChrysler’s Mercedes-Benz brand.
DaimlerChrysler has already proclaimed last month that they would cut down13,000 more jobs and put down the lid on two more plants at its unprofitable US subsidiary Chrysler.
