This is a really interesting piece of news. Some smart gut decided that he would like to make a Double-Decker mini car and for that he picked up two Smart cars. They really look ridiculous one on top of the other and this is such a stupid idea that you are almost convinced that it is a failure the moment you take a look at it. The guys over at the British motoring TV show 5th Gear had the dazzling idea of bolting two Smart Fortwo models together in order to create a four-seater mini car. They then compared their double-decker Fortwo with Mitsubishi’s four-door “I” mini car.
Among other things, they 5th Gear performed a maneuverability test. I do not know if Mitsubishi know this, but they are not going to probably ever try this idea themselves. The maneuverability test failed as badly as it could and that means that we are not going to get this idea tried again any time soon. Looking at the video I am still surprised how people thought that this would even work. I would surely like to know if the idea behind it was only to get attention or were they actually thinking it would work!
