Next time you see driverless car stunts doing rounds on television news channels, don’t bother. Because may be in a century’s time, a driverless and affordable car will be waiting for you at the nearest showroom. A bunch of super intelligent automobile and computer science engineers have made a working prototype of a driverless car, with a cost of not one, not two but a few zillion dollars! Phew..
I lost all the count. The prototype has a GPS system worth $42,000, a interface box worth $50,000 which coordinates messages from 16 computers on board which run supersensitive cameras and radios worth $300,000! When all of this is put together and working, the car is able to maneuver itself on a 1000 feet wide road! The effort is applaud able, but God knows when an actual driverless car could take me through heavy traffic in my hour long struggle to get to work. Soon perhaps, but I could also wish if the prices were a little affordable. Amen!
