The dash of the 2010 Range Rover will come with some interesting techs, like finger-control satellite navigation, DVD playback, an audio system and the best of all, dual view. Taking advantage of the “Parallax Barrier Technology” the system makes best use of what is seen as a shortcoming of the LCDs. The driver and passenger view the screen from different angles, and can get very different views of the screen, the technology utilizes this to create a different display for each. So, while the driver sees navigation information on the screen, the passenger could be watching a movie on the same screen.
Instrument panel in the SUV gets a 12-inch TFT display and even the dials go virtual and graphic. Power comes from a 5.0-l V8 that delivers 375bhp of power and 375lb-ft of torque. In its supercharged avatar, the engine raises power output to 510bhp and 461lb-ft of torque. Even though the engine delivers more power, the fuel efficiency has gone up 7.3% to 19mpg as compared to the 2009 model. The naturally aspirated model goes from zero to sixty in 7.2 seconds, while the supercharged version covers the same in a much quicker 5.9 seconds.
